Maintenance free metal buildings don’t hold up to the expectations of building owners. Problems occur because of the constant movement to which metal is subjected. Movement causes leakage at the seams and flashing as well as metal degradation. Rusting starts years before the building owner is ever aware it is taking place.
Weather Barrier Seamless Encapsulation tackles thermal expansion problems and returns metal buildings to working order. After removing rust scale and power washing the roof, Weather Barrier 5003 rust inhibitive primer is applied. All fasteners, seams and flashing are then coated with Weather Barrier 1750 Patching Compund. Polyester mesh is imbedded into the 1750 on all of the seams and around flashing. Then, Weather Barrier 1530 Elastomeric Base Coat is applied. Finally, Weather Barrier Elastomeric Finish Coats of either 2000, 1650, or 1655 are applied.
All of the Weather Barrier Coatings are water based and elastomeric. They are designed to be flexible and move with the roof in a wide range of temperatures to yield years of waterproof service.
